Ronnie Sewell
Mr.
Ronnie Sewell became ACA's second President in June 2002. He
previously served at the academy for nine years (1981-1990)
as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Prior to returning to
ACA, Mr. Sewell served as Superintendent for Central Arkansas
Christian Schools and President of Jackson Christian School
(Tennessee).
He began his career in education in 1975 and served
in the public schools before entering Christian education in
1981. His passion is Christian education. He and his wife Egena,
have four daughters and three grandchildren.
Mr. Sewell received his Bachelor's degree from
the University of North Alabama; his Masters from the University
of Alabama Birmingham; and his Administration & Supervision
certification from Auburn University Montgomery.
Mr. Sewell gives God the praise, honor, and glory
for all the blessings ACA has received over the years.

Milton Slauson
Dr.
Milton Slauson received his B.A. degree
in history from the University of
Alabama in 1968. From 1968 until 1972,
he taught in the Montgomery County
and Elmore County Schools. He received
his M.A. degree in guidance and counseling
in 1971 also from the U of A. In 1972,
Dr. Slauson returned to his alma mater
for further graduate study. In 1975
he received a Ph.D. in guidance and
counseling and holds doctoral minors
in educational psychology, curriculum
and supervision, special education
and statistics. During 1975-76,he
taught in the College of Education
at the University of Alabama.
Beginning in 1976,
Dr. Slauson was employed by the Selma
City Schools as a psychometrist and
guidance counselor. Subsequently,
he served for 17 years as the school
system's Director of Special Education.
During the mid-1980s, he took post-doctoral
courses at AUM to become certified
in educational administration. After
retiring from public education, Dr.
Slauson became the secondary principal
of ACA in June 1994 and served in
that capacity for 10 years. In 2004,
he became ACA's first superintendent.
Dr. Slauson's hobbies
are genealogy, bowling and collecting
songs from the late 50s and early
60s. He enjoys working with the faculty,
staff, students, parents and administrators
at ACA and is very conscious of the
school's rich heritage having started
his own educational career here in
1952 as a first grader. He is married
to Linda Slauson, an ACA elementary
teacher who retired in May, 2009.
They have three grown children, Karyn,
Ben and Amy, two great sons-in-law,
one wonderful daughter-in-law, and
the five cutest grandchildren they
could have ever hoped to have had.
The Slausons worship with the Vaughn
Park church of Christ.

Denise
Ainsworth
Mrs. Denise Ainsworth has been a
teacher at ACA since 1985. Originally,
Mrs. Ainsworth was employed to teach
science and elementary physical education.
Over the years she has held many positions
including cheerleader sponsor, basketball,
softball and volleyball coach, biology,
health, and sports psychology teacher,
head of the magazine drive, class
sponsor, and various committee memberships.
While serving in a part-time capacity
as A.D. for years, beginning in the
summer of 2009, Mrs. Ainsworth became
ACA's first, full-time Athletic Director.
"Coach" Ainsworth received
her B.S. from the University of North
Alabama and her M.S. from the University
of Southern Mississippi. She is married
to Ralph W. Ainsworth who is the Division
Chief of Unclaimed Property for the
Department of Treasury for the State
of Alabama. She has two daughters,
Carlie and Audrey. Carlie is attending
UAB and is working toward a doctoral
degree in Physcial Therapy. Audrey
is a student at AUM and enrolled in
their pre-dental program.
Mrs. Ainsworth works in education
because she had teachers who had such
a positive impact on her life that
she wants to do the same for others.
The people who have influenced her
the most and from whom she developed
her philosophy of teaching and coaching
have been her dad, Kenneth Rhodes,
her high school coach, Ms. Linda Quigley
and the principal at ACA who first
hired her, Mr. Ronnie Sewell. These
three people have taught her a lot
about teaching and coaching but mostly
they've taught her about life.

Shelly
Bruce
Shelly Bruce was first employed at ACA in
August, 2010. She serves as the Director for Curriculum,
Instruction, and Faculty Development. Mrs. Bruce holds B.S.
degrees in chemistry and in vocational ministry with minor
concentrations in mathematics and biology. These, along with her
M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, are from Freed-Hardeman
University. Mrs. Bruce is working on the last phase of
completing her doctorate in Instruction & Curriculum Leadership
from the University of Memphis with an emphasis in chemistry
education. Her work experiences include mentoring and
instructing both high school and university classes and
researching for the Cancer Research Institute of West Tennessee.
Mrs. Bruce is married to Dr. Ben Bruce and they have two
children, Sadie Love and Brad Austin.

Doug Black
Mr. Doug Black, though born and raised
in a small town in Ohio, found his
way to Alabama Christian Academy.
He received his Bachelor's degree
in Elementary Education in 1990 and
his Master's degree in Elementary
Administration in 1991 from Harding
University in Searcy, Arkansas. He
taught two years in the Montgomery
Public Schools and afterwards, joined
the ACA family in 1993 teaching 4th
grade for 16 years. During the 2010-11
school year, Mr. Black served as the
guidance leader and assistant principal
of the elementary school. In June
2011, he became the elementary principal.
He has two sons who attend ACA.

Dale
Horn
Mr. Horn began serving
as ACA's high school principal in
June 2010. He first joined the ACA
family in July 2008 as its Spiritual
Life Director. He received his Bachelor's
degree from Arkansas State University
in Business Education in 1985. He
has also received two Masters degrees
from Arkansas State. One in Business
Education in 1988 and another in Educational
Administration in 1990.
Mr. Horn is originally
from Paragould, Arkansas, a small
rural community in the northeast corner
of that state. For 11 years prior
to his coming to ACA, he served as
the president of Crowley's Ridge Academy
(CRA). "Mr. Dale" and his
wife, Cassee, have four children.
Jacob is married and lives in Chattanooga,
TN where he is a history teacher.
Savanah and Lucas are college students
and their youngest child, Beau, is
a student at ACA.
Mr. Horn is excited
about being ACA's high school principal.
He feels blessed to have the opportunity
to work with a dedicated and caring
faculty that truly loves God and has
a gift for touching the hearts of
young people.

Rob
Williams
Rob Williams is our
middle school principal and an alumnus
of ACA. He holds a Bachelor's degree
in Business Administration and Management
from Auburn University, a Master's
degree in Educational Leadership from
Walden University, and an Ed.S. (Educational
Specialist degree) in Educational
Leadership from Liberty University.
While serving a four-year stint as
the Director of Sales and Marketing
for a record label in Nashville, he
married his wife, Joy. Mr. Williams
has five years of experience as a
youth minister. He began his teaching
career in 2000 and taught at Arlington
Christian School in GA before returning
to ACA. Mr. Williams and his wife
are the proud parents of a son, Jaden.
