Class of 2010: Will Thompson was elected as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, and to several other committees outside his duties as the chief executive for the Student Government Administration at Troy University. Will won with a final percentage advantage of 69 percent to his opponent's 31. He was sworn in on April 10, 2012. Before being sworn in, he resigned as the Chief Justice of the SGA Supreme Court. Will will serve a full calendar year term and plans on seeking reelection if all goes well. (Posted: 5-16-12) Kaitlyn Hiebert recently received a letter of acceptance into Troy University's prestigious School of Nursing. Congrats to Kaitlyn. Keep up the great work. (Posted: 5-2-12) Our congratulations go to Cameron Thomas for being named to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars on Mar. 28, 2012 for his academic accomplishments at Auburn University. Previously, Cameron was posted to the "Dean's List" in Dec. 2011 by the dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn AND in Feb. 2011 was named for membership in the AU chapter of Tau Sigma, a national academic honor society. 2008: Amber Elizabeth Staten graduated from Faulkner University on May 3, 2013 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. Amber is engaged to John Persons (ACA Class of 2007) and the couple has set a wedding date for March 2014. 2007: Congratulations are extended to Stephanie Pitts Chauvin and her husband, Jesse Chauvin, on the birth of their son, Caleb Matthew. The baby arrived on April 16, 2013. He weighed in at 9 pounds and was 21 inches long. Stephanie completed her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Faulkner University in May 2012. Congratulations are due Blake Ottinger. He graduated from Faulkner University earlier this month with a B.S. degree in Counseling. In August, he will be leaving on a missionary trip to China. While there, he will serve as a professor of English and share God's word in one of the most populous nations on the planet. We certainly wish Blake "God's speed" as he heads for China. 2004: Congratulations to Lauren Hamilton. She is currently in her second season dancing as a professional ballerina with the Connecticut Ballet. She lives in Stamford, CT. Congratulations go out to Russell Carroll and his wife, Hannah (Whitmore) Carroll on the birth of their son, Jackson Wayne Carroll. Jackson was born on Oct. 4, 2012. He weighed in at 6 pounds and 8 ounces or so and was 19 ½ inches long. Russell is currently stationed in Beaufort, SC while serving in the U. S. Marine Corps. Our congratulations go out to Grant McEwen on having graduated from the University of Alabama on May 10, 2008, having been commissioned as a 1st Lt. in the USAF AND having earned his wings in pilot training school in Oct. 2011. Grant is currently flying a C-130H Hercules based in Cheyenne, WY. He recently sent his alma mater an American flag that he flew in honor of ACA while he was stationed in the Middle East. (Posted: 5-30-12) Rebecca (Joyce) Hatcher and husband, Brent along with their sons, Brooks and Reese (current ACA students) received the Faulkner/Cloverdale Center Tower of Strength Family Award for 2011 at a Faulkner and Friends Luncheon which was held on Mar. 8, 2011. According to Dr. Donnie Hilliard, "This award is to help promote what is right with Christian families today. We know that families need help and that there are some things that are wrong with families in our society today, but there is also good things going on as well." Brent is a deacon at the University Church of Christ and involved with the care-groups and prison ministries. He and Rebecca both teach in the Bible School program and are a part of the mission committee to Thailand. They took a mission trip to Indonesia in 2009 so Brent could show Rebecca where he spent 7-12th grade. We are proud to have them as part of our
