DEVELOPMENT & ADVANCEMENT

10th Annual Spring Benefit

Each year, we hold the ACA's largest fundraiser in order to obtain financial support for specific, major projects. Last year, we successfully raised money to replace our 25 year-old bleachers in the gymnasium. This year the Board of Trustees gave permission to raise money to buy new school buses. If you randomly ask an ACA student whether he has been on an old school bus when it broke down, he will give a resounding "yes!".

Our entertainment for the April 16, 2012 Spring Benefit was a professional entertainer named Mike Rayburn. Known as "the World's Funniest Guitar Virtuoso," Mike uses his astounding guitar creations, uproarious songs, and veteran presentation skills to encourage, challenge and inspire his audiences to leap beyond their perceived limitations. Mike draws from a wealth of life experiences as an adventurer, business owner, comedian, world-class guitarist, author, philanthropist, husband and father to deliver a presentation which is motivational, hilarious, and musically amazing! The evening at Wesley Hall was a tremendous success and Mike Rayburn donated 10 % of the sales of his books, CDs and DVDs to the school.

To date (May 17th), we have raised $70,046.90 (gross amount).

The unveiling of one new bus took place on May 14, 2012 and with help we were able to purchase a second bus. We are truly blessed and want to thank each of you who have helped reach our goal.

A special thank you to the family of Wendell Mitchell. Just prior to his death this past February, Wendell gave ACA a generous unrestricted gift that allowed us to afford a second bus. Wendell and his wife Rosalind, a former ACA teacher, have been great supporters of Christian education and ACA. His daughters, Wendy and Shelly, were graduates of ACA, and his grandson, Jacob, is just graduated as a senior.

It is with respectful gratitude that we remember Wendell Mitchell. Our prayers continue for his lovely wife and for the entire family.

Introduction

On behalf of the ACA Board of Trustees, Administration, Faculty and Staff, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our financial supporters. Together, many of you have formed a partnership with ACA that helps provide an excellent Christian education to hundreds of students each year. We are deeply grateful for your support. Your generous support allows us to reach goals and provide opportunities that otherwise could not be realized through tuition funding alone.

We are committed to the pursuit of excellence in all areas at ACA. This commitment requires a dedicated and well-trained faculty, a motivated and able student body, and the financial support of partners who share our vision and mission. Mission indicates the core reason for our existence, and vision implies that we see things not only as they are, but also as they can become.

We are certain that sufficient need exists at ACA for us to request funds from families and friends that will allow us to work toward our vision. As we have stated, these funds help us to accomplish things that could not be accomplished through tuition alone. As a private school, we receive no funding from tax revenues. Our help has to come from people like you. The great news is that your tax-deductible gift to ACA allows your money to stay in Montgomery, benefiting the young people of our community.

Again, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to those of you who have helped us in the past and for those helping us currently. If you are not currently a financial partner with ACA and would like to know more about our vision, please contact us. Please continue to keep ACA in your prayers as well.

Spring Benefit 2011

ACA’s 9th Annual Spring Benefit a Huge Success

First of all, a tremendous “Thank You” to all of you who in any way participated in making our Spring Benefit a huge success! The food was good, the entertainment was excellent, the fellowship was enjoyable, and we exceeded our monetary goal of $75,000 (gross amount)!

We raised, to date, $77,963.10. This includes over $25,000 last night at the dinner. Our expenses to date are $11,742.34, bringing our net profit to date to $66,220.34. That basically doubles any previous Spring Benefit. That is amazing, and we give God the praise, honor and glory!

We have ordered the new bleachers. They will not be installed until this summer. We still need about $6,000-$8,000 to cover all expenses related to purchase and installation. Therefore, anyone wanting to contribute to this cause between now and the end of the school year, please feel free to do so. Make checks payable to ACA and memo to donation, bleachers.

Again, thanks to all who played a part in the success of this event!

Giving

There are several ways for you to give to ACA. All gifts are tax-deductible and help us achieve things that otherwise may not be achieved simply through tuition funding. Following are some of the ways in which you can help ACA. If you have any questions about any of these opportunities, please give us a call.

1. Annual Fund Gifts:
You may make a pledge over a given period of time and make payments in whatever manner that suits you best (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, etc.)

2. Honor and Memorial Gifts:
You may make a gift “In Loving Memory” or “In Living Honor” of someone. Here is a printable donation form in Adobe Acrobat.

3. Estate Planning:
If you have an interest, without obligation, in just learning how you can help ACA in the long-term future, please contact us as soon as possible. We can help you become familiar with areas such as life insurance policies where you make ACA the beneficiary; charitable remainder trusts where you can put a significant amount of money in a trust, name ACA as the beneficiary, and you receive a continued income from that trust for as long as you live; making ACA a beneficiary in your will; and, by giving other appreciable items, such as land, a house, a vehicle, etc.
