ELEMENTARY PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Many factors are considered in planning an elementary physical education program. It is our philosophy that the physical education program provides a well-rounded curriculum to meet the ability levels, needs, and interests of all the children that we possibly can.

A part of each child's daily instruction at ACA will be 30 minutes of physical education class. During this time, the students will participate in a variety of activities designed to fulfill the following goals:

· Increase and maintain health-related fitness levels
· Improve motor skill development
· Increase their knowledge of personal health-related fitness
· Increase their ability to develop a healthy lifestyle
· Increase their awareness of various activities to enjoy for improved health, fitness, and recreation.
· Increase their social skills through various activities and games that promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
