Listed below are excellent general web resources for elementary students.  If you are looking for a specific subject area, then use the menu on the left to go to the Internet Resource page for that curriculum area. If you know of a web site that your elementary student has found particularly helpful, please send us an email and we'll include it in our next update!

My Virtual Reference Desk

A search engine of excellent student-oriented web sites.  Easy to use.

 

Yahooligans

Great source for documents and information, organized by topics for the students.

Mapquest

Maps for all student needs - easy to search.

Word Central

Merriam-Webster's kid-friendly dictionary site, complete with word games and the "buzzword of the day".

Ask An Expert

Lists of sites where "experts" on all kinds of topics are waiting to share their knowledge.

Study tools in a question-answer format that allows the student to find sources of information on the web.

 

Today's news in a format kids can understand.

The Youth Division of the Internet Public Library is jam-packed with listings of searchable sites, all organized by topic.

Every student has access to the AVL, but ONLY if the parent has taken them to the Public Library to get a card (which includes a password).  The site includes online access to all the major encyclopedias!!
